| Introduction | Communication underlies everything we do. Communication patterns learned for our home culture often do not work as expected when we cross cultures. Often the difficulty is attributed to language, but more commonly the real problem is communication expectations and cultural assumptions.
This course focuses on understanding your own & others expectations when it comes to verbal & non-verbal communication, and adapting yourself for specific situations. Specific techniques, structures and methods are presented for practice and feedback in the course, as well as reasons for communication differences in perception. Note: this course does not work on foreign language ability, but rather communication skills that help participants utilize the language they already know for a more productive result across cultures. |
